This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of Your information when You use the Service and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.
We use Your Personal Data to provide and improve the Service. We collect, use, and disclose Your information as described in this Privacy Policy and, where required by applicable law, only where We have a valid legal basis to do so, including Your consent (where consent is required).
The words whose initial letters are capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
Application refers to Soarat, the software program provided by the Company.
Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Privacy Policy) refers to Soarat.
Country/State refers to: Saudi Arabia.
Device means any device that can access the Service, such as a computer, a cell phone or a digital tablet.
Personal Data (or "Personal Information") is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
We use "Personal Data" and "Personal Information" interchangeably unless a law uses a specific term.
Service refers to the Application.
Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, or to perform services related to the Service.
User means any individual who accesses or uses the Service.
You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.
While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide Us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
Your name is entered during onboarding and stored only on Your Device as part of Your local profile. It is never transmitted to Our servers. Soarat requires no account and no sign-in.
With Your explicit consent, Soarat accesses the following health-related data:
Health data is accessed solely for the purpose of displaying Your activity metrics within the app. We do not collect, store, or share this data on any external server. You can revoke access at any time through Your device settings.
Soarat does not use analytics SDKs and does not collect usage statistics, device identifiers, or advertising data. When the Application contacts Our backend or third-party food databases to fulfil Your requests (food search, barcode lookup, AI analysis), those servers technically receive Your request and IP address as part of normal internet communication. This information is used only to respond to Your request in real time and is not retained, profiled, or used for advertising.
While using Our Application, in order to provide features of Our Application, We may collect, with Your prior permission:
Location Data: Soarat accesses Your device's approximate location to automatically detect Your country. This is used to provide region-appropriate food database search results (e.g., Japanese food database for users in Japan). Only the detected country code is kept on Your Device. Location data is used only for this purpose and is not stored on Our servers.
Camera: Soarat uses the device camera for two purposes: (1) scanning food product barcodes to look up nutritional information, and (2) capturing photos of meals for AI-powered calorie and macro estimation. Captured photos are sent to Our backend service for AI analysis and are not retained after processing.
Photo Library: Soarat allows You to select existing photos from Your device's photo library to attach to food entries or to use for AI meal analysis. Selected photos are processed locally or sent to Our backend for AI analysis and are not retained after processing. Separately, You may attach progress photos to Your weigh-ins; those photos are stored only on Your Device alongside Your weight history and are never uploaded.
Health Data (Health Connect / HealthKit): With Your explicit permission, Soarat reads daily step count data through Android Health Connect (on Android) or Apple HealthKit (on iOS). This data is used solely to display Your daily step count on the diary screen and in a weekly progress chart, helping You track Your physical activity alongside Your nutrition goals. Step count data is read-only — Soarat does not write, modify, or share this data with any third party. All health data remains stored locally on Your device. You can revoke access at any time through Your device settings, and You may enter step counts manually instead.
Microphone (voice meal descriptions): When You tap the voice-logging button, Soarat records Your spoken meal description. The recording is sent to Our backend service, which forwards it to an AI model for transcription into text, and the text is then analyzed for nutritional content as described below. Voice recordings are processed transiently and are never stored after transcription. Recording happens only when You explicitly start it; the app never records in the background.
Push Notifications: Soarat may send push notifications to remind You of meal logging times and water intake that You configure in the app settings. These notifications are scheduled locally on Your device and do not involve the collection or transmission of personal data to external servers. You can disable notifications at any time through Your device settings or within the app.
Photos sent for AI analysis and search queries sent to food databases are transmitted only to fulfil Your request and are not retained after processing. All other information listed above is stored only on Your Device.
You can enable or disable access to this information at any time, through Your Device settings.
Soarat integrates with the following third-party services to provide food nutritional data:
These integrations are used solely to look up food nutritional data and images. No personal information is shared with these services beyond the search query (food name or barcode number).
Soarat uses artificial intelligence to provide the following features:
AI processing is performed by third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Google, Groq, or OpenRouter) on behalf of Soarat. Your data is processed in accordance with these providers' privacy policies. We do not use Your data to train AI models.
Soarat stores the following data locally on Your Device in a local SQLite database, including Your profile. This data stays on Your Device and is not transmitted to Our servers unless You explicitly export it:
Soarat allows You to export Your data as a JSON file to Your device's local storage or share it with other apps. This feature is entirely client-side — no data is transmitted to external servers during export or import. You have full control over any exported files.
The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
To provide and maintain Our Service, including to process food lookups from external databases and to perform AI-powered food analysis on Your behalf.
To manage Your requests: To attend and manage requests You send to Us, for example when You contact Us by email.
For business transfers: We may use Your Personal Data to evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Data held by Us about Our Service users is among the assets transferred.
To comply with legal obligations: To comply with applicable laws and lawful requests from public authorities.
We may share Your Personal Data in the following situations:
The Company retains Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

Step count data: stored locally on Your device only and retained for as long as You use the Service. This data is never uploaded to Our servers and can be deleted at any time through Your device settings, through the in-app data management options, or by uninstalling the Application.
Local app data
Food logs, weight and water history, step history, Your profile, and settings stored in the on-device database are retained until You delete them in the app (Settings > Data Management) or uninstall the Application.
You may request information about how long We will retain Your Personal Data by contacting Us.
Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. This means that this information may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of Your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of Your jurisdiction.
Where required by applicable law, We will ensure that international transfers of Your Personal Data are subject to appropriate safeguards and, where relevant, supplementary measures. The Company will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of Your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place, including the security of Your data and other personal information.
You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data that We have collected about You.
You can delete Your data at any time inside the app under Settings > Data Management (delete logs or all data), or by uninstalling the Application, which removes the on-device database.
You may also contact Us to request access to, correct, or delete any Personal Data that You have provided to Us.
Please note, however, that We may need to retain certain information when We have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.
If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
Under certain circumstances, the Company may disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).
The Company may disclose Your Personal Data in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:
The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While We strive to use commercially reasonable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.
The Service is not directed to, and We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from, anyone under the age of 16.
If You are a parent or guardian and You believe Your child has provided Us with Personal Information, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Information from anyone under the age of 16, We will take steps to delete that information as soon as reasonably possible.
Some countries and states set a higher age at which an individual can consent to the processing of their own Personal Information. Where We rely on consent as a legal basis and the law applicable to a User sets an age higher than 16, We may require the consent of that User's parent or guardian before We collect and use their Personal Information.

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
We will let You know via a prominent notice on Our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
